      Owner: Will Gundesen
      Truck: 2011 Freightliner Argosy

Stunning and well presented this rig in white stands out for more than one reason. The truck features: subtle touches that accentuate the bodywork on the 110” Freightliner cab; ‘Gundy Transport’ engraved on the stainless side deflectors and all the LEDs and lights have been fitted with clear lenses including those on the visor, indicators, and the rear bumper.

The interior has a full entertainment system installed by local outfit - Over 'n Out, including a 10” sub and numerous tweeters plus a 32” Sony LCD TV with surround sound that has been wired into the stereo. Will originally wanted to fit a 42” screen but was unable to because of the sleeper’s space constraints. The dash has had plenty of chrome bezels added and even a couple of grenade switches .

But the one thing that stood out for XT was the clean and uncluttered look of the Argosy and the sophisticated touches which really make the difference. Will has also opted for a grey shade around the front and side windscreens and flat stainless guards from Rhino which are, as he says, “not easy to keep scratch free” but the result is a shinier look.

The Freightliner, powered by a 525hp Detroit engine and coupled to an 18speed Roadranger manual gearbox, does a Palmerston North to Auckland daily run. The tractor unit can normally be seen pulling a five axle b-train but as a nightrider the combination will normally be best recognized by its impressive light trail.

For Will this is his ‘little project’. He points out - “I saved up so I could go to an American truck and bling it”.

He also owns an impressive unique DAF 105 model that was the first 8x4 DAF tractor unit and the only super spacecab 8x4 tractor unit in the world which is also immaculately presented. Thanks to Will for his time in preparing the truck and congratulations on presenting such a fine looking Freightliner Argosy.
