This spectacular looking truck is owned by Vanzanco Ltd. One of three Argosys in the fleet, this truck nicknamed 'Shadow', is the oldest, having travelled 1.4 million km. Not that you would know - the rig looks incredible during the day and at night.
The truck is a 2000 Freightliner Argosy with a 110" Mid Roof cab and is powered by a Cat C-12 440hp engine. Named after a Bull Mastiff, 'Shadow' based in South Auckland is now contracted to Hall's previously working under Toll Tranzlink colours. 'Biggsy' drives the refrigerated unit during the day working mainly around the Waikato area in the North Island. At night Adam pilots the fiery beast down to Taupo on a swap.
BIGGSPEC TRUCKING designed and fitted the stainless steel flames mounted on the cab, the 19" drop visor (with the help of Chris Stanley of CustomTruckChrome), the grille - named the 'Big Retro' and the unique centre piece flaming plate with neon light. The special head light covers (see middle picture below) were purchased and are a recent fitting. The result of all this customization - one Hot Rod of a Truck!
